Visa: Afghan Applicants
Information for applicants from Afghanistan
Applicants for long-term visa applications (such as family reunion etc.) and Schengen visa applicants, who reside in Afghanistan and fall under the regional consular jurisdiction of the German Embassy Kabul, can file their visa applications at the German Embassy Islamabad starting 18th September 2017. The registration for an appointment is only possible via the website of the German Embassy Kabul. Registrations/ booking of appointments via the website of the German Embassy Islamabad cannot be accepted and will be cancelled. It is not possible to file a visa application without prior appointment. Visa applications from Afghan applicants are not accepted at the visa section of the German Embassy Islamabad, but at the visa building of the British High Commission in Islamabad. The address of the visa building is as follows: British High Commission, Gate 05, Ramna 5, Diplomatic Enclave – Islamabad, Pakistan.
Visa applications for family reunion with a person with subsidiary protection Status
As of 1 August 2018, close family members (spouses, unmarried minor children and parents of minor children) of a person eligible for subsidiary protection in Germany will be able to apply for a visa for the purpose of family reunion.
