Re-entry Visa (Wiedereinreise)

If your Residence Permit get lost or expired and you need a Visa to re-enter Germany.

Documents to be submitted for re-entry visas (Wiedereinreise):

Please note that all copies of your documents have to be
- In DIN A4 size
- Complete and readable
- Not stapled

Please provide two sets of A4 size photocopies.

You have to arrange each set of documents according to the order in which they are mentioned below.

Application form of the applicant with biometric passport photo

Completely and truly filled out by typewriter or Computer
- Signed by the applicant (for minors under 18 years signed by the parent or Guardian)

Biometric passport photo:
- of applicant
- not older than 3 months with white Background
- No computer print-outs accepted
- applicant’s photo stapled on the first page of the application form at the intended spot;
Photos_Samples

Application form of children with biometric passport photo (if applicable)

Pre-approval letter (“Vorabzustimmung”) of competent alien’s authority in Germany (if available)

-This document is not mandatory, but it might be useful to contact your local alien’s authority and ask for a pre-approval letter to speed up the procedure

Visa fees

- 75 Euro (adults)
- 37,50 Euro (between 0 and 17 years)
- Depending on your German residence status, in certain cases, no visa fee will be charged

  • Please contact the visa section of the embassy by e-mail in order to get an appointment for applying for a re-entry visa after making sure you have the above-named documents complete.
