Notarizations, “Lebensbescheinigungen” and more
The German Embassy in Islamabad and the German Consulate in Karachi are authorized to do notarizations, attestations, certification of documents and signatures as well as to issue certificates in certain cases.

Certified copies of study documents
If you need certified copies of your school/university/education documents in order to apply at German University, you can get this done at our embassy in Islamabad and our consulate general in Karachi.
At the German Embassy Islamabad appointments can only be booked online (Online Appointments Embassy Islamabad).
At the German Consulate General Karachi, no appointment is required, you can come from Monday to Thursday between 1:30 and 2:30pm.
Please submit your original certificates along with corresponding copies (no cross attestation by the HEC Pakistan required) and your passport in the same order. Only a maximum of 4 sets of copies can be attested per person and day.
In order to obtain one set of certified documents for free, please establish proof of your intention to study in Germany, e.g. by submitting a copy of an e-mail of the German university.
If you reside in or close to Lahore, please contact our Honorary Consul Mr. Arif Saeed for an attestation of your certificates.
Blocked Account Release Letters (Consular Attestation)
In case you have already applied for a study visa or you are on our waiting list and do not wish to pursue your application, the Embassy may issue a consular attestation confirming that you have not been, or will not be granted a study visa. This letter may also be issued if your visa application was refused by the Embassy.
In any case, we recommend prior contact to your bank, to confirm that this Consular Attestation is necessary.
Please bring the following documents to your appointment:
• Valid passport
• Confirmation letter for your blocked account
• Fee (cash in PKR) for issuing the D-Block Letter (36€; around 12,000 PKR depending on the current exchange rate of the Embassy)
• Visa refusal letter (if applicable)
• Proof of an expired/cancelled visa (if applicable).
• withdrawn admission letter (certificate of registration) from the University in Germany (if applicable)
