Visa and Passport Assistants

- Handling and initial assessment of visa applications

- Conducting interviews at the counter

- Entering of applicants’ data into the electronic visa system

- Dealing with client queries by phone, email or in person

- Providing translation and interpretation

- Administrative support

- B.A. or professional experience in the administrative field

- Excellent knowledge of English

- Excellent knowledge of Dari or Pashtu or sufficient command of German. Applicants knowing more than one of those languages, or holding higher proficiency than the mandatory levels, will be preferred.

- Working knowledge of standard IT programs (Word, Excel and similar)

- Equitable, honest and professional behaviour with both the public and colleagues

- Reliability, commitment and dedication to the job

- Interest and ability to work in a service-oriented environment

- Quickly obtaining a working knowledge of the special software used in the visa section

The position

The Embassy is seeking to fill full-time positions with a working time of 41 hours. One of the positions will be a temporary position until 31 March 2025.

Pakistani law will apply to the work contracts. The salary is based on the Embassy’s current salary scheme. Benefits such as medical insurance are offered to employees and their families under certain conditions. The probation period for permanent positions is 6 months.

The embassy will contact you if you are invited to an oral interview. It will not acknowledge receipt of applications, nor return documents or reply to any queries about the state of an application.

Invitations for oral interviews will be sent in the first weeks of December 2024. If you receive no reply by then, you can consider your application unsuccessful.

Invitees for interviews must bring original documents with them to the interview.

The Embassy is unable to refund travel expenses arising from interviews.

Please note that the selected applicant is obliged to undergo a medical examination and pass security clearance by the German authorities.
