Your passport needs to be valid for at least three months after the end of the desired visa.

All passports must be signed by the holder. Unsigned passports are invalid under Pakistani law and cannot receive visa.

You can only be considered for a multiple entry visa of longer duration, if your passport has a long additional validity.

If any of your previous passports has been lost, provide a police report with English or German translation.

If you have received any visa on paper (not in your passport), please also provide a copy.

The photographs must not be older than six months.

One photograp must be stapled on the application form and a further photograph attached with a paper clip.

Your minimum insurance cover must be € 30000. Your policy must cover all Schengen countries not only Germany.

Your host in Germany can provide you with a formal letter of obligation (Verpflichtungserklärung). This is issued by the competent Foreigners Office (Ausländerbehörde) and signed by your host in accordance with §§ 66-68 Residence Act. It assesses your host's financial situation and creates a lien on his assets for any costs of your stay. The letter of obligation must not be older than 6 months.

Alternatively, your host can send you an informal letter of invitation. This needs to be signed by your host and attach copies of your hosts passport, residence permit and certificate of residence.

If you are not staying with the person inviting you, you must provide confirmed hotel bookings or proof of any other accommodation in Germany.

Please provide confirmed round trip tickets covering the duration of your stay.

The certificate must be issued by your company, employer or university and state:

• your designation or position;
• how long you have been working with or studying at the entity; and
• permission for the trip.

Checks are run against the system for any refusals. Failure to disclose a refusal contitutes fraud and is an automatic grounds for refusing the visa.

You must at least provide:

• Bank statements of the past six months; and
• Salary slips of the last three months.

Disclosing your financial position is central for the success of your application. If you feel that the above documents do not reflect your financial resources, you can also provide documents such as pension books, investment certificates or property documents. Always include English translations where applicable.

Printout

You have received the appointment email to your email address registered with the Embassy. Your printout must show that email address.
